Working for the United Nations Democracy Funds (UNDEF)

Transtec has been commissioned to conduct the evaluation of the majority of the United Nations Democracy Funds ‘s projects funded under the second and third Rounds.

Over a two year period, Transtec will conduct 90 country, regional and thematic evaluations. The evaluations will be performed by a team of 7 international experts working in concert with a pool of national experts. This is in line with Transtec’s policy of integrating regional and national experts in its engagements worldwide.

Since November 2010, the Transtec evaluation team has completed 14 evaluation missions and is currently preparing 7 new ones.

With four Rounds of Funding so far, UNDEF has supported a total of more than 330 projects in more than 110 countries. The projects evaluated are of a duration of 2 years and fall under one or more of the following six main areas:

  • Community development
  • Rule of law and human rights
  • Tools for democratization
  • Women
  • Youth
  • Media
